There are times when we need certain knowledge about fumigation that will lend us a hand in a situation with a pest. For that reason, the pest specialists at Burkle will address some questions and provide you with some information about fumigation.
When is it advisable to fumigate a house?
At BURKLE, we believe that a family home or business - when there are no serious or chronic problems - a good frequency for pest control is to schedule the service every 3 to 6 months.
How long does the effect of fumigation last?
The action will last between one and three months, after which a monitoring treatment is recommended to indicate the effectiveness of the process of eliminating the bothersome visit.
When I move to a new house, what elements should I consider to avoid pests?
We recommend checking contacts, cracks and crevices, drains, and the condition of the manholes. To prevent pests from the drainage system, it should be equipped with odor traps and drains or channels with grates, which must be kept free of debris, without standing water, and in good condition.
What are some of the pests I should consider?
- SPIDERS: Did you know that there are more than 100 species of spiders? In Mexico, there are 40 of them, and one of the most dangerous that could be in your home is the brown recluse spider, which is only 3 cm long.
- COCKROACHES: There are bacteria transmitted by cockroaches that cause serious diseases such as salmonella, streptococcus, or E. Coli and asthma.
- RODENTS: Rodents can also cause diarrhea and fevers through their feces and urine due to the bacteria they carry.
- BED BUGS: The bed bug feeds on the blood of humans and animals. A study showed that a bed bug managed to stay alive without feeding for a total of 580 days. Bed bugs found in homes and residences typically survive an average of 130 days without feeding. In fact, one of the reasons bed bugs settle in small spaces like cracks and crevices is to maintain a favorable microenvironment in terms of temperature and humidity, thus increasing the likelihood of surviving long periods of starvation.
We invite you to schedule your preventive service in order to take care of the health of those who matter most.
